How to measure your chest

What you will need:

  • A soft measuring tape (flexible and non-stretchable).
  • A mirror (optional, but helpful to ensure the tape is level).
  • A friend or family member (optional, for more accuracy).

Steps to measure your chest:

1.  Wear Fitted Clothing or No Clothing:

    • Wear a thin, fitted shirt or no shirt at all. Bulky clothing can distort the measurement.

2.  Stand in a Relaxed Posture:

    • Stand up straight with your arms at your sides. Relax your shoulders and breathe normally.

3.  Locate the Widest Part of Your Chest:

    • The chest measurement is taken around the fullest part of your chest, typically across the nipple line. This is usually just under the armpits.

4.  Wrap the Measuring Tape Around Your Chest:

    • Hold one end of the measuring tape in front of your chest and wrap it around your back, ensuring it’s parallel to the floor.
    • Bring the tape back to the front, making sure it’s snug but not too tight. It should not compress your chest or dig into your skin.

5.  Check the Measurement:

    • Look in the mirror to ensure the tape is level and not twisted.
    • Read the measurement where the tape meets the end.
    • Record the number in inches.

Tips for Accurate Measurements:

    • Don’t Pull Too Tight: The tape should rest gently against your body without squeezing.

    • Breathe Normally: Don’t hold your breath or puff out your chest, as this can lead to an incorrect measurement.

    • Ask for Help: If possible, have someone assist you to ensure the tape is level and positioned correctly.

How to measure your waist

What you will need:

  • A soft measuring tape (flexible and non-stretchable).
  • A mirror (optional, but helpful to ensure the tape is level).
  • A friend or family member (optional, for more accuracy).

Steps to measure your waist:

  1. Wear Light Clothing: Remove bulky clothing or wear something form-fitting to ensure accuracy.

  2. Stand Up Straight: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and relax your abdomen. Avoid sucking in your stomach or holding your breath.

  3. Find Your Waist: Locate the top of your hip bone and the bottom of your ribcage. Your waist is the narrowest point between these two landmarks. If you can’t find a narrow point, measure at your navel.

  4. Wrap the Tape: Hold the end of the measuring tape at your waist and wrap it around your body.

  5. Keep It Level: Ensure the tape is parallel to the floor and not twisted. Use a mirror to check if needed.

  6. Snug, Not Tight: The tape should be snug against your skin but not compress it.

  7. Breathe Normally: Take a normal breath and exhale. Measure your waist at the end of the exhale.

  8. Read the Tape: Look at the number where the tape meets the end. Record the measurement in inches

Washing Instructions

You’ve got your fresh new MOTiQ team kit. It looks awesome. Now you need to make sure you take care of it so it stays looking good. Just follow these simple steps as recommended by MOTiQ, and we’ll help you do it.

  • Machine wash inside-out in cold water with like colours.
  • Use powdered detergent instead of liquid detergent. Do not use bleach.
  • Do no use dryer sheets or fabric softener (if you inadvertently use a dryer sheet or fabric softener, simply rewash the garment with detergent).
  • Do not dry clean.
  • If you need to iron your teamwear, use the cool setting to avoid damaging any logos or designs.

WITH STAINS, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE

Care for your teamwear promptly. The sooner you pre-treat and launder (put in the washing machine) the stained clothes, the better your results will be.

  • Don’t allow mud or stains to set.
  • Do not leave wet or dirty Jerseys in your Football or Gym Bags, where smells and permanent stains can develop.
  • If a stain is not removed in the washing: Do not dry it. Dryer heat will set the stain (you don’t want that).
  • Soak the stain in a pre-wash. In the case of sever staining it may be necessary to apply a stain remover directly to the affected area. Then launder again.
  • Make sure you do not dry garment until the stain is removed, because the dryer heat will set the stain in.
  • Once the stain is fully removed, you can go head and launder your team kit as you would normally do (we recommend a cooler wash, hang dry).

CARE DEFINITIONS

  • Pre-treat heavily soiled spots. Apply undiluted laundry detergent (washing powder or liquid), with a bleach alternative (don’t use actual bleach!)
  • Pre-soak heavy stains. Soak the stained items in a plastic bucket or laundry tub with the warmest water safe for the fabric, and a good laundry detergent, for one to three hours. For sensitive stains and fabrics, rinse in cold water first, and then wash with a non-chlorine bleach product.
  • Pre-wash: Used for heavily soiled garments. Run through the pre-wash cycle with the recommended amount of detergent. When the wash cycle is complete, drain the pre-wash solution and launder as normal.
  • MOTiQ use a variety of different fabrics, and each one needs its own love and care, so to make sure, please also check the washing instructions on the label of the garments themselves.
